Ha!
You thought we had forgotten to prepare a Father's Day blog, didn't ya?!

Well, we hadn't, but we have been really, really slow about it.
The result? A last minute dot com Father's Day idea for all of those forgetful (or like us, just really slow) peeps out there.

Last minute dot com Father's Day

This Father's day vibe is a two-parter:

What to do:

  1. Gather all of your supplies and set up on a clean workspace
  2. Set down some newspaper if you are worried that your little might make a mess
  3. Draw out the word 'DAD' in wax on the bottom half of the card with the candle
  4. Shake off the excess wax
  5. Get your little to paint over the word with the water colour paints
  6. Let the card dry and then fold
  7. Have your child dictate a message to their dad for you to write inside (if they can not write this themselves).

Part one done. On to part two:

Rustic Banana Pancake Breakfast

Basically, what you need to do is find a simple banana pancake/crumpet/flapjack recipe and follow the instructions.

We used this recipe but added about half the milk and only a smidge of butter for frying. We also used self-raising flour instead of regular plus baking powder and served with honey rather than maple syrup.

Get your little to help mash the banana, mix the batter and possibly even to flip the pancakes - but monitor this closely to avoid accidental finger or forearm burns.

The best part is that it is generally accepted that anything that has the word 'rustic' in front of it is automatically forgiven for being a bit wonky and misshapen. Try using it in a sentence today ;)
